Switch from NeverBounce to Mail Exchange

Export, verify, import. Nothing needs migrating. Here is how NeverBounce's results map to ours, what to do with credits that expire, and how to test the switch.

Updated 2026-10-18

TL;DR

  • Nothing to migrate. Export your list, verify it here, import the result.
  • Pay-as-you-go comparison only: $29 vs $40 at 5K, $299 vs $400 at 100K. NeverBounce's monthly Growth plans are cheaper than ours from about 50K a month, so if you are on one and use it fully, check the numbers before switching.
  • Use unexpired credits first. NeverBounce pay-as-you-go credits expire 12 months after purchase. Ours never do.

Why people switch

Two reasons we can support. First, pay-as-you-go packs cost more at NeverBounce, from $40 for 5,000 to $400 for 100,000 (its pricing page, checked 2026-10-17). Second, credits you do not use in 12 months expire, which hurts when your volume is uneven. The detail is in Mail Exchange vs NeverBounce.

Reasons to stay: NeverBounce lists 80+ native integrations and CRM auto-sync on its Growth plans. We have CSV and API workflows today, and no native connectors yet.

What carries over

All of your routine. Export the leads from your sending tool or CRM, upload them to Mail Exchange, and import the rows you want to send to. No account data or history moves between vendors, and we have no migration tooling. If you call NeverBounce from a script, you would switch to our API (keys on request) and adjust the response handling.

NeverBounce results and ours

NeverBounce resultMail Exchange stateNotes
validdeliverableNeverBounce defines it as verified as a real address.
invalidundeliverableReasons: rejected_email, invalid_domain, invalid_email.
disposablerisky (disposable)Remove from cold lists.
catchallrisky (low_deliverability)Also flagged accept_all: true. See catch-all handling.
unknownunknownNeverBounce defines it as the server could not be reached. Ours is refunded automatically.

NeverBounce definitions from its API reference, checked 2026-10-18. We add role addresses (info@, sales@) as a risky reason (low_quality); NeverBounce's documented results do not list a role category.

Use your existing credits first

NeverBounce says pay-as-you-go credits expire 12 months after purchase (checked 2026-10-17), so find the date in your account and spend them before it. Whatever is left on that date is lost, so size your next purchase to your real use. Then buy ours when you need them, with no clock running. We do not match or buy out leftover credits.

Test before you switch: the 500-address sample

  1. Take a random 500 addresses from a list NeverBounce has already checked.
  2. Verify the same file in Mail Exchange (the 25-check trial covers only a small part of it).
  3. Line the two result sets up by address and count disagreements.
  4. Read the disagreements by type. Catch-all against valid is expected to differ in labelling. Valid against undeliverable is the one that matters.
  5. If you have send results for those addresses, see which tool's labels matched the actual bounces.

It is a sanity check, not a measurement of accuracy. 500 rows are too few for that.
