TL;DR
- Expiry: MailExchange credits never expire. NeverBounce pay-as-you-go credits expire 12 months after purchase.
- Unknowns: MailExchange refunds unknown results and duplicates. NeverBounce's policy on unknowns is not stated on its site.
- Price (pay as you go): MailExchange is $11 cheaper at 5K, $1 cheaper at 10K, $101 cheaper at 100K and $801 cheaper at 1M.
- Honest caveat: if you verify 50,000+ emails every month, NeverBounce's monthly Growth plans cost less than MailExchange. This page compares one-off credit packs.
Credits that never expire
Most teams don't verify on a schedule. You buy credits when a list comes in, use part of them, and the rest sit in your account until the next campaign. At NeverBounce, credits you bought and didn't use expire 12 months after purchase. At MailExchange they stay in your account for good.
That changes the real price. If you buy 100,000 NeverBounce credits for $400 and use 60,000 before the year is up, you paid about $0.0067 for each email you actually verified. The same 60,000 at MailExchange cost $299 for the pack, and the 40,000 left over are still there next year.
Unknown results
Some mail servers won't give a clear answer: they time out, greylist, or block probes. Those come back as "unknown". MailExchange refunds the credit automatically, so you only pay for addresses we could actually classify. We didn't find a statement on NeverBounce's site about whether unknowns are refunded, so we've marked it "not stated" below. Ask NeverBounce before you buy if it matters to you.
Pricing (pay as you go)

| 5,000 | $40 | $29 | $11 (28%) |
| 10,000 | $50 | $49 | $1 (2%) |
| 100,000 | $400 | $299 | $101 (25%) |
| 1,000,000 | $2,500 | $1,699 | $801 (32%) |

At 10,000 emails the prices are basically the same, so the choice there comes down to expiry and refunds, not price.
When NeverBounce's Growth plan is cheaper
NeverBounce also sells monthly Growth plans, and they're priced aggressively. Its pricing page's plan calculator lists 100,000 emails a month for $159 and 1,000,000 for $999, and Growth charges only for new, unique emails. That's less than MailExchange's monthly plan from about 50,000 emails a month up. If you verify a large, steady volume every month and use it all, Growth is the cheaper choice, and we'd rather tell you that than have you find out later.
MailExchange fits better when your volume is uneven: a 20,000-lead list one month, nothing the next, 80,000 the month after. Buy what you need, keep what you don't use.

Where NeverBounce is the better fit
NeverBounce has 80+ native integrations, and its Growth plans include auto-sync with your CRM. If you verify a big, steady volume every month on a Growth plan, or you want verification running inside HubSpot without exporting anything, it's a strong pick.
Where MailExchange is the better fit
If you clean lead lists before importing them into Instantly or Smartlead, and your volume goes up and down, MailExchange is cheaper on credit packs, refunds what it can't verify, and never takes back credits you paid for.
Common questions
What happens to my NeverBounce credits if I switch? Nothing changes on their side, so use them before their 12-month expiry date. Then buy MailExchange credits for your next list. Ours don't have an expiry date to track.
Can I verify inside Instantly or Smartlead with MailExchange? Not natively yet. Today you clean the CSV here and import the deliverable rows. Native connectors are on the roadmap, and the API is in early access.
